Betty Bomar, 83, of South Boston, VA, passed away May 9, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Clinton Ray Bomar. Mrs. Bomar was born in Halifax County July 19, 1938, daughter of the late Woodrow Wilson Woosley and the late Francis Cook Woosley. Betty was a lifetime member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church; she was a tobacco farmer and a retiree of Pool Motor Company. Betty is survived by a son, Kevin Heath Bomar (Cindy); two daughters Donna B. Tuck (Gerald); Pamela B. Moore (Stevie) all of Nathalie. Six grandchildren, Christie Martin (Robert); April Pillow; Thomas Moore (Kimber); Holly Childress (Steve); Justin Bomar; Brandon Tuck. Great grandchildren Samantha, R.J., Bradyn, Ethan, Iceton, Ryder, Camden, David, Corinne, Xander, Tenley, Wrenn, Trinidy, Nadya, Sophia, Maverick, Remmington, Caleb, Cassidy, Kalyee. Three sisters Joannie Enoch, Louise Bomar, Carolyn Morris all of Brookneal. Preceded in death by a son Steve Bomar, a grandson Lucas Bomar, a sister Faye Lloyd and three brothers Lennie, Harold and Larry Woosley. The family would like to thank her caregivers Cynthia, Jazmine, Emerald, Amanda, Caroline, Dora, Katrina, Cassandra, Sharon, Chasity, Megan, Vicki. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 12, 2022 in the Henderson Funeral Home Chapel by Reverend Andy Ferguson. Interment will follow at St. Thomas Episcopal Cemetery The family will have visitation Wednesday, May 11 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Henderson Funeral Home Chapel and other times at 2088 Cherry Creek Rd. Nathalie. Memorial contributions may be made to the North Halifax Volunteer Fire Department or the Alzheimer’s Association.
