Charlotte Belle DeJarnette Jordan, 80, of Nathalie passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of Heywood Moses Jordan.
Mrs. Jordan was born in Halifax County, February 25, 1936 daughter of the late Lawrence Meade DeJarnette and Gracie Mae Crank DeJarnette. She was a member of Childrey Baptist Church, United Daughters of the Confederacy and a former employee of Burlington Industries.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Janet Grace Jordan Perkins (Richard Kenneth) of Richmond, Leslie Elaine Jordan Hudson (Thomas) of Alton; three grandchildren, Rebecca Scott Perkins of Ft. Myers, Fla., R. Kara Hudson, Christopher Hudson both of Alton; two great-granddaughters, M.J. Perkins, Hazel Grace Bittenbender of Richmond; two nephews, Meade and Timothy Woosley of Nathalie; her dog, Shaggy; granddogs, Prissy, Snooki and Emma; grandcat, Smidgen. She was preceded in death by a brother, Lawrence Lindsey DeJarnette; a sister, Della DeJarnette Woosley; a grandson, Zachary Tyler Hudson; a nephew, Bobby Woosley.
A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Childrey Baptist Church by the Rev. Jerry Stanfield and the Rev. Dan Ward with interment to follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8:00 p.m. Friday, September 23, 2016 at Henderson Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Brookneal and at the residence other times.
