Curtis Field Davis, Sr., 86, of Gladys passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at home. He was the husband of the late Vern Johnson Davis.
Curtis was born in Campbell County, May 24, 1931, a son of the late Sam J. Davis and Dollie King Davis. He was a member of Kedron Baptist Church, a life-long tobacco farmer, who enjoyed the outdoors, and he especially liked hunting and gardening.
He is survived by two sons, Curtis F. Davis, Jr. (Ronna) of Gladys, Kenneth Ray Davis of Lynchburg; one daughter, Norma D. Fletcher (Ed) of Rustburg; four grandchildren, Mandy D. Pugh (Bobby), Tanner A. Davis (fiancée, Lindsey N. Greene), Brady F. Davis of Gladys; one great-grandson, Mason L. Pugh. He was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Glenna Grace Pugh; two sisters, Mildred Moon, Doris Pillow; six brothers, George, Hale, Claude, Ollie, Othia, and Russell Davis.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Henderson Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Andy Ferguson with interment to follow in Kedron Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 7:30 p.m. Friday, August 25, 2017 at Henderson Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Brookneal and at the residence of Curtis Davis, Jr. other times.
