Edna Mae Anderson Epperson, 88, of Brookneal passed away Friday, October 5, 2018 at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of the late Jack Champ Epperson.
Mrs. Epperson was born in Halifax County, September 12, 1930, a daughter of the late Paul Anderson and Ida Mae Rice Anderson. She was a member of Lighthouse Community Baptist Church and a retired employee of Dan River, Inc.
She is survived by five sons, J. Wayne Epperson (Kenda) of Hurt, Ronald L. Epperson (Rhonda) of Forest, Danny M. Epperson (Nadine), J. Dean Epperson all of Brookneal; Barry K. Epperson (Lisa) of Rustburg; one daughter, Carolyn E. Hale (Steve) of Long Island; 11 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one sister, Dorothy A. Shade (Bill) of Sacramento, Calif.; a devoted friend, Archie McKinney of Rustburg; and a loyal companion, Petie. She was preceded in death by two brothers; and four sisters.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at Lighthouse Community Baptist Church by the Rev. Frank Gooch with interment to follow in Wickliffe Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 7:30 p.m. Monday, October 8, 2018 at Henderson Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Brookneal.
