Lois Enoch Owen, 93, of Gladys went to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday, August 9, 2016. She was the wife of the late Toy William “Pete” Owen.
Lois was born in Naruna, April 6, 1923 daughter of the late Mildred Monroe Enoch and Hugh Lee Enoch. She was a member of Sharon United Methodist Church, a standing member of the Brookneal Rebekah Lodge #2 and a reporter for the Union Star. She also attended the School for Nursing at Grace Memorial Hospital and retired from Burlington Industries after 35 years of service.
She is survived by her son, Joseph Lester Owen (Linda) of Gladys; two grandchildren, Brandy Owen Peters (E.G.) of Willow Springs, N.C., Lindsey Owen Parnell (Ryan) of Lynchburg; four great-grandchildren, whom she adored, Breyden and Avery Parnell, Ethan and Jake Peters; a brother, Henry Enoch (Betty) of Lynchburg. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Elsie Hamlette, Ira Monroe, Sadie Belvin, and Elaine Enoch; five brothers, Bernard, Harvey, William, Younger and George Alexander Enoch.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, August 12, 2016 at Henderson Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. R.A. “Dick” Daily and Mr. Charles Overby with interment to follow in Sharon United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 11, 2016 at Henderson Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Brookneal and at the residence of Joe and Linda Owen other times.
