Reverend Russell Melvin Tuck, 78, of Rustburg passed Monday, December 14, 2020 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of Ladora Smith Tuck.
Mr. Tuck was born in Halifax County, June 22, 1942, a son of the late Alfred Napoleon Tuck and Mabel Williams Tuck. He was the pastor of Victory Baptist Church in Duncan, OK for 27 years. He loved serving the Lord and spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Deborah Souza (Joseph) of Lynchburg, Phyllis Searcy (Stuart) of Forest, Yvonne Nachimson of Rustburg; one son, Bill Tuck (Tim) of Irving, TX; seven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren, one sister, Dale Thompson (David) of Concord. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Tuck; six brothers, Manford, J. B., Robert, Ross, Eugene, and Leo Tuck; three sisters, Peggy Coates, Frances Waller, and Cecile Chandler.
A graveside service is tentatively scheduled for 1 p.m. Monday, December 28, 2020, at Liberty Christian Church Cemetery by the Rev. Jeff Whorley and Gary Thompson.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warriors or a charity of your choice.
Due to the situation with the Covid virus those attending the service will be asked to wear a mask and social distance.
