Watt Robert (Bobby) Foster, 77, of Brookneal, Virginia passed away at his home on April 26th. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lou Hilton Foster and Inez Elder Foster, one brother L.H. Foster, Jr. and a sister, June Foster Bass.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Nancy, two children, Watt Robert Foster, Jr. and his wife, Jennifer, Cynthia Foster Craig, and her husband Sam, six grandchildren and his sister, Mildred Lewis Kimm.
Bobby proudly called Brookneal his home and graduated from William Campbell High School in 1953 where he excelled in sports and was his senior class president. Bobby attended the University of Richmond where he graduated with a sociology degree in 1958.
Bobby returned home from college with his devoted wife, Nancy, and their daughter, Cindy, to become part owner in the family business of Foster Fuels with his father Lou Hilton and L.H., Jr. After a number of years, Bobby became sole owner of Foster Fuels. The company currently enjoys its 94th year in business under the third-generation leadership of Bobby’s son, Watt, Jr.
Bobby was a devoted member of Brookneal Baptist Church. He was active in many clubs and organizations including the Staunton River Masonic Lodge where he served as Past Master. His love for family, friends, employees, wildlife conservation, hunting and his dogs were unprecedented. His loss will be felt by the countless individuals and organizations that he touched in his lifetime.

The family will greet friends at Brookneal Baptist Church on Tuesday, April 29th from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. A celebration of Bobby’s life will be held at Brookneal Baptist Church on Wednesday, April 30th at 2:00pm followed by a reception in the church fellowship hall. A family interment with Masonic rights will be held at Hat Creek Presbyterian Church. The family will be at the home otherwise.
