Pamelia Anne Cutts Pursley, 82, of Nathalie passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at Guggenheimer Health and Rehab. She was the wife of the late Charles Roberts Pursley.
Pam was born in Gordon County, Georgia, October 2, 1936 daughter of the late William G. Cutts, Sr. and Evelyn Creighton Cutts. She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, where she taught children and youth classes, was director of the adult choir as well as the hand bell choirs. She was a Girl Scout leader for Junior Troop #632 and was a volunteer swimming instructor for the American Red Cross water safety program.
After graduating from Georgia State College for Women (now Georgia College and State University) in Milledgeville, she taught in their physical education department. She also taught school in both Georgia and Florida.
She is survived by two daughters, Penelope Anne Pursley Wallace (Bruce) of Lynchburg, Peri Augusta Pursley Hoover (Vance) of Holly Springs, N. C.; two grandchildren, Robert Bruce Wallace, and her namesake, Emily Anne Wallace both of Lynchburg; a brother, Dr. William G. Cutts, Jr. (Marie); a sister-in-law, Louise Pursley all of Georgia. She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert W. Cutts.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 6, 2019 at Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery by the Rev. Johnny Roberts and the Rev. Andy Ferguson.
The family will receive friends at the residence.
