Acie East, 75, of Brookneal passed away Thursday, May 18, 2023 at Autumn Care of Altavista. He was the husband of Sharon Francis East for 42 years. Acie was born in Halifax County on May 8, 1948, the son of the late Clifton Edward East and the late Dorothy Singleton East. He was a member of Brookneal Baptist Church and retired from Thomasville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a brother Bill East (Cathy) of Long Island; brothers-in-law Ronnie, Steve, and David Francis; sister-in-law Karen East; nephews Ricky Rigney, Tommy and Joe East, Jason, Nicholas, and Daniel Francis; nieces Dale Murray, Nikki East (Christy), Sarah Nichols and Brandy Francis. Acie was preceded in death by brothers Albert, Stuart, Granville, and Charlie East; sisters Hazel Rigney, Louise, and Ellen East; nieces Marie and Teresa. A funeral service will be conducted by Rev. Andrew Reisburg at Brookneal Baptist Church on Monday, May 22, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Wickliffe Cemetery.
