Obituaries

Bobby Wayne Wilmouth, 83, Scottsburg, passed away peacefully at home Monday, September 2, 2024. He was the husband of the late Linda Childrey Wilmouth. Bobby was born in Halifax County on July 12, 1941, a son of the late Roy Beckett Wilmouth and the late Helen Throckmorton Wilmouth. He was retired owner/operator of Bobby & Linda Grocery, LLC of Scottsburg and a retired farmer and was a member of Fork Baptist Church. He is survived by three daughters, Lita R. Wilmouth, Tracey C. Powell (Kevin) all of Scottsburg and Bobbie W. Goodman (Jason) of Rustburg; grandchildren, Roy Nicholas “Nick” Puckett, Leah P. Cole (Chase), Corrie Dean Conner (Christina Gravitt), Lorrie Ann Conner (Nick Lewis), Katie Aileen Conner, Alyssa Page Goodman and Beckett Thomas Goodman; great grandsons, Gunnar Wayne Puckett and John Tyler “JT” Cole, and sister Helen “Faye” Suddarth of Scottsburg and a number of nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be conducted by Rev. Ken Warfield at 1:00 p.m., Friday, September 6, 2024, at Fork Baptist Church. The family will receive friends Thursday, September 5, from 6:00 -7:30 p.m. at the church. Henderson Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Brookneal is assisting the family.
