Elwood Junior Davis, 73, of Brookneal passed away December 31, 2023 at home. He was the husband of the late Nina Ziegler Davis. Elwood was born in Rocky Mount, May 5, 1950, a son of the late Harry C. Davis, Jr. and Casteen Robertson Davis. He was a member of Falling River Baptist Church, served in the National Guard and worked at BWXT for over 50 years. He is survived by two daughters, Leslie Davis Rust of Brookneal, Christina Davis of Hurt; a son, Kevin Elwood Davis of Gretna; two step children, Nancy Elder (Jerod) of Brookneal, Mark McKinney (Bobbi) of Gladys; four grandchildren, Harley and Cody Rust, Lucas and Nina Davis; six step grandchildren, Jacob Elder (Hattie), Abigail and Gabe Elder, Brandon, Shane and Asa McKinney; one great-grandchild, Jaidyn Rust; three step great-grandchildren, Arya and Jonah Elder, Myles McKinney; brother, Jeffery Davis of Redwood; special friends, Linda McKinney and Lewis Stevens. He was preceded in death by one brother, Jimmy Davis. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 2, 2023 at Falling River Baptist Church by Pastor Andrew Reisberg with interment to follow at the Robertson Family Cemetery in Redwood. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church and at his home other times.
