Fred Bailey Gilliland Sr. 86 of Rustburg passed away November 6, 2021 in Fresno California. He was the husband of the late “Goldie” Marie Fields Gilliland. Mr. Gilliland was born in Halifax County, March 5, 1935, son of the late Harvey Gilliland and Evelyn Short Gilliland. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Republican Grove, a U.S. Airforce veteran, and a truck driver for Englander Transportation He is survived by a son, Fred B. Gilliland Jr.; A granddaughter Neriza “Isa” Oliva of the Philippines; one sister-in-law, Patsy Elder Gilliland, of Nathalie; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. He was proceeded in death by two brothers, James and Henry Gilliland. Funeral service will be conducted Monday, November 22, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church of Republican Grove, by the Reverend Shelton Miles and Reverend Zack Ford. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service.
