Hilda Jordan Rudder, 89, of Brookneal passed away November 22, 2021 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of the late William Thornton “Bill” Rudder. Mrs. Rudder was born in Charlotte County, September 28, 1932, daughter of the late Russell Jordan and Ethelyn Gibson Jordan. She was a member of Brookneal Baptist Church and retired owner of Rudder’s Market and the Crescent Restaurant. She is survived by a son, Tommy Rudder (Lori) of Brookneal; a daughter, Theresa R. Bienkowski (Mark) of Goode; five grandchildren, Brandon Payne of Lynchburg, Kristen Payne of Washington, D.C., Cody Rudder (Mallory) of Spout Spring, Matt Rudder (fiancée Cecilie Elliott), and Meghan Rudder of Brookneal; two great-grandchildren, Worth and Walker Rudder; five nieces, Linda Elder, Betty Sue Mitchell, Eva Jean Mason, Kay Harris and Samantha Rosser; two nephews, Lawson and Dwayne Jordan; a special caregiver Vanessa Boyd. She was proceeded in death by two brothers, Herbert Jordan and Clifton “Buster” Jordan. A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 29, 2021 at Wickliffe Cemetery.
