Howard Beverly Bomar, 96, of Nathalie passed away at his daughter’s home on Thursday, October 12, 2023. He was the husband of the late Hommie Parker Bomar. Howard was born in Halifax County on February 18, 1927, a son of the late Henry James Bomar and the late Sadie Hendricks Bomar. He was a member of Childrey Baptist Church. Howard was a Navy veteran of World War II, a farmer, and a retired employee of The Bibb Company. Howard is survived by a son, Tim D. Bomar (Cindy) of Nathalie; two daughters, Eleanor B. Lewis of Evington and Judy B. Morton of Nathalie; one brother, James Henry Bomar of Lynchburg, a special nephew, Jason Parker; daughter-in-law, Susan Bomar; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son Wayne H. Bomar; two brothers, Recie Bomar and Carroll Bomar; four sisters, Anita B. Davis, Margaret Saunders, Josephine Harmon and Mary Helen Weadon. A funeral service will be conducted by Rev. Jerry Stanfield at Childrey Baptist Church on Sunday, October 15, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. with interment to follow in the church cemetery.
