Jimmie Rogers St. John, 86, of Gladys passed away Monday, June 19, 2023 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of Susan Murphy St. John. Jimmie was born in Campbell County, April 24, 1937, son of the late Joseph Edgar St. John and Gracie Smith St. John. He was a member of Brookneal Baptist Church, a U.S. Army veteran and retired from B&W. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Kathryn St. John of Virginia Beach, Judy King (Bruce) of Forest; two sons, Darrell St. John (Laura), David St. John (Amy) all of Gladys; six grandchildren, Kristin Fowler, Caitlin King, Joseph St. John, Ethan St. John, Devin St. John and Ryan St. John; three great-grandchildren, Lilly, Mason and Lincoln Fowler. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Douglas and Edgar Lee St. John. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 22, 2023 at Brookneal Baptist Church by the Rev. Andrew Reisberg with interment to follow in Wickliffe cemetery. Military Honors will be performed at the grave by American Legion Posts #36 and #232. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church and at the home other times.
