Obituaries

On January 13, 2024, God called Lois Mae Daniel to Heaven to be reunited with her parents, H. Melvin Daniel and Lucy Elder Daniel; brother, M. Keith Daniel; sister, Dorothy Daniel; pets, Andy (dog), Renee, Ashley, and Lindsay (cats); and good friend, Jim Jordan. Leaving to be reunited later are Jim’s wife, Judy Daniel Jordan of Lynchburg; their sons, Chad Jordan, wife Amy and daughters Macie, Aubrie, and Kylie; Cliff Jordan, wife April and sons Walker, Silas, and daughter Ashlyn; Cole Jordan, all of Richmond. Also, loved ones Sam (cat), friends, cousins, and the Lynchburg College Family. After serving as Executive Secretary to four Deans of the College at Lynchburg College (University of Lynchburg), Lois retired in 2001. The college awarded her the Honorary Alumni Award, and the Lois Daniel Office/Administrative/Technical Support Award was named for her. She was a member of Beulah Baptist Church (Lynchburg), where she served as Church Clerk. A graveside service will be held at the Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery, Brookneal (in the vicinity of where she was born on April 15, 1936) on Monday, January 22, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. Officiating will be Dr. Dennis Hollandsworth, Pastor of Beulah Baptist Church, Lynchburg, and Dr. Cliff Jordan, Pastor of the Movement Church, Richmond.
