Margaret Ann Pennell Wells, 71, of Phenix passed away Thursday, December 15, 2022 at home. She was the wife of the late Fulton Lee Wells, Sr.
Margaret was born in Charlotte County, April 25, 1951, a daughter of the late Cleveland Monroe Pennell and Victoria Byrd Pollard Pennell. She was a member of Midway Baptist Church.
She is survived by, six daughters, Victoria Barquet (Sean) of Kent, Wash., Irene Richardson (Keith) of Nathalie, Patsy Wells of Brookneal, Della Robertson (Clarence) of Clarksville, Nancy England (Joshua) of Wilmington, N.C., Linda Wells of Johnson City, Tenn.: two sons, Fulton Wells, Jr. of Phenix, and Willis Monroe Wells of Nathalie; 24 grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, three sisters, Irene Lacks of Keysville, Patsy Nash of Indiana, Daisy Mawyer of Chase City; sister-in-law, Ellen Beadles of Nathalie; an aunt, Polly Tuck of Phenix; a great-uncle, Gene Lyles of Keysville. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Price; two brothers, LeRoy “Mutt” Pollard, Charlie Pennell; two granddaughters, Holly Wells and Gracie Davis.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Centra Hospice and all her caretakers, Tiffany Wells, Bethany Thompson, Robin Taylor, Nancy England, and Brenda Moss. They would also like to thank special friends, Robert Seamster, Gerald King, Mike and Chris McKinney and Wanda Nash.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 18, 2022 at Henderson Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Mike McKinney with interment to follow in Midway Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 until 3:30 p.m. Saturday, December 17, 2022 and at the home of her granddaughter, 440 Park St., Phenix other times.
Memorial contributions may be made to Centra Hospice or the Barksdale Foundation, Phenix.
