Marie Hill Scott, 73, of Brookneal passed away Thursday, August 3, 2023 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of William “Pee Wee” Scott for 52 years. Marie was born in Durham, North Carolina, November 14, 1949 a daughter of the late Edgar Justin Hill and Nora Mae Crews Williamson. She was a member of Union Hill Baptist Church and a former employee of Central Fidelity Bank. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Dana Fitch (Steven) of Concord; a son Derek Scott of Brookneal; a granddaughter, Dr. Carissa Sprinkle (Travis) of Forest; a great-granddaughter, Charlotte Sprinkle; three sisters, Brenda Joy (Barney), Lynn Trent (Jimmie) all of Brookneal, Allison Almond (Pastor Mack) of Lynchburg. She was preceded in death by a brother, Tommy Hill. A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 6, 2023 at Union Hill Baptist Church by the Rev. Rick Sewell and Pastor Mack Almond. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the service.
