Melissa Kay Francis, 44, of Nathalie, passed away at her home on Saturday, February 11, 2023. Melissa was born in Lynchburg on September 12, 1978, the daughter of Stanley C. Francis and Wanda Kay Martin. She was of the Baptist faith. She was a self- employed painter. She was an amazing painter, just like her father Stanley. She continued with the things she loved until her last days and she was surrounded by her family and friends when she went home to the Lord. Melissa is survived by her parents; two sons, Jacob Lambert of Norfolk and Joseph Watkins of Clover; a daughter Savannah Watkins of Clover; siblings Stanley Francis, Jr., Jamie Francis, Leslie Jackson, Quincy Francis; nieces Hanna Francis Williams, Katherine Francis, Serenity Jackson, Lydia Jackson; nephew Thomas “TJ” Jackson; great-niece Lehlani Williams; and special friends Jenna Perkins and Linda Arthur. She was preceded in death by stepmother Kathy Francis. A Graveside Service will be conducted by the Rev. Andrew Reisburg on Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Monday, February 13 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at Henderson Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends at the home other times.
