Richard Stanley Hailey, 90, of Midlothian VA, formerly of Nathalie passed away February 11, 2022. He was the husband first of the late Joyce Stevens Hailey and presently to Catherine Pierce Singleton Hailey. Mr. Hailey was born in Halifax County March 20, 1931, son of the late Percy Howard Hailey and the late Annie Singleton Hailey. He was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church and an Army Veteran of the Korean War. Richard was a retiree of Babcock & Wilcox. Stanley enjoyed serving his church family by teaching Sunday school, playing hand bells, singing in the choir and served as a deacon. Richard is survived by a son, Richard S. Hailey (Patty) of Maryland. Two grandchildren William and Kelly Greene. One step-son Robert E. Singleton (Jamie) of Midlothian. One step-daughter Rhonda S. Oberle (Jeff) Midlothian. Seven step-grandchildren Kayla Oberle, Aidan Oberle, Christian Singleton, Benjamin Singleton, James Singleton, Joshua Singleton, Lily Jane Singleton. A brother Clarence T. Hailey of Nathalie and a number of nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by a daughter Janet H. Greene; four brothers and a sister. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at Ebenezer Baptist Church. By Reverend Jamie Adams, Reverend Johnny Roberts and Dr. Elwood Lee Seamster. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Interment will follow at Childrey Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to Ebenezer Baptist Church or the charity of your choice.
