Robert Allen Judy, 83, of Brookneal, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Elizabeth Maryann Judy. Robert (Bob to most who knew him) was born in Cumberland, Maryland on June 1, 1940, a son of the late Isaac Elsworth Judy and the late Tillie May Hesse Judy. He was a member of Beulah Baptist Church. He was in the Navy for 23 years and, after retirement, worked in the Merchant Marines for 20 years. His final career was his retirement dream of cattle farming. Bob was a member of Staunton River Masonic Lodge AF & AM#155. Bob, beloved husband and father, is survived by his wife of 56 years; his sons: Robert I. Judy of Phenix, Matthew William Judy (Maria) of Norfolk, and John Michael Judy (Raquel) of California; his daughters: Maryelizabeth Hancock (Edward) of Nathalie, Deborah Anne Sigmon of Callaway, and Megan Elizabeth Wade (C.B.) of Red House; his grandchildren: Peter, Benjamin, Dawson, Bailiegh, Drake, Graceanna, Liam, Oisin, Eli, and Bellamy; and great grandchildren: Westyn and Dimitri. He has two surviving brothers: Lee R. Judy (Bonnie) of Pennsylvania and David C. Judy (Pamela) of Maryland. A number of nieces, nephews, cousins, special friends and farmers. He was preceded in death by two granddaughters. Bob will be forever missed by his family and friends. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 21, 2024, conducted by Pastor Sammy Gunter at Henderson Funeral Home Chapel with military honors by AltaVista and Gretna American Legion and Masonic rites by Staunton River Masonic Lodge #155.
