Ray D. Burton

Ray DeWitt Burton, 80, of Tucker, Ga. passed away Sunday, March 26, 2017 in Emory-St. Joseph Hospital in Atlanta.

Mr. Burton was born in Lynchburg, July 28, 1936 son of the late Robert Lee Burton and Mary Rudder Burton. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and the former owner of Burton Refrigeration.

He is survived by his former wife, Betty Childress Burton; two sons, DeWitt Burton (Jackie) of Athens, Ga., Edward Burton of Atlanta, Ga.; one daughter, Kimberly Burton of Panama City, Fla.; four sisters, Beryl Camden of Lynchburg, Sue Scott, and Ruby Jennings both of Gladys, Edith Gilliland of Naruna; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, March 31, 2017 in Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery by the Rev. Johnny Roberts.

The family will receive friends following the service at the home of his sister, Ruby Jennings, Gladys.
