Mavis Rice Eser

Mavis Rice Eser, 83, of Nathalie passed away Sunday, January 31, 2021 at Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Brookneal. She was the wife of the late Thomas Joseph Eser.

Mrs. Eser was born in Halifax County, July 6, 1937, a daughter of the late Lewis Edward Rice and Lona Anderson Francis. She was a member of Childrey Baptist Church and a former banker.

She is survived by a son, Bob W. Ashby (Angie) of Joppa Towne, Md.; two daughters, Glenda D. Ashby of Parkbill, Md., Janet F. Beadles of Dundalk, Md.; four grandchildren, Erica, Sarah and Daniel Ashby, Angel Huemmer; a brother, Doug Francis (Janet) of Vernon Hill; a sister, Anita Powell of Nathalie. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Carrol E. Rice, James L. Rice, Larry T. Francis and Lester Francis; and one sister, Marjorie R. Monroe.
