Bettie Arlene Mann Smith

Bettie Arlene Mann Smith, 80, of Brookneal passed away, peacefully at the home of her daughter, Monday, August 23, 2021. She was the wife first to the late Frank W. Mann and second to the late Walter Smith.

Bettie was born in Charlotte County, July 29, 1941, a daughter of the late Robert Andrew Mann and Edna Earl Elder Mann. She was a member of West End Baptist Church.

She is survived by two sons, Donald Mann (Debbie), Frank Mann, Jr. (Angie); two daughters, Brenda Wright (Timothy) all of Gladys, Carolyn Mann of Brookneal; nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; one brother, John Mann of Gladys; a sister, Mattie Maxey of Brookneal; close friend, Allen Grishaw; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jennifer Mann; three sisters, Elsie Crews, Louise King, Virginia Hailey; two brother, Robert, and Benjamin Mann.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 26, 2021 at Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery by the Rev. Walter Pillow, Jr.

The family will receive friends at her home.
