Thomas G. Sheppard Sr.

Thomas Gordon Sheppard Sr., 84, of Hunter Road, Brookneal passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Brookneal. He was the husband of Bertha Mann Sheppard.

Mr. Sheppard was born in Campbell County, April 20, 1930 son of the late Booker Gordon Sheppard and Gaynell Guthrie Sheppard. He was a member of Sharon United Methodist Church, a US Army veteran of the Korean conflict and a retired Heating and Air Condition Specialist.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Thomas G. Sheppard Jr. (Janet) of Rustburg,
Phillip B. Sheppard (Teresa) of Brookneal; four grandchildren, Phillip M. Sheppard (Angela), Nathan T. Sheppard (Kelly), Tyler J. Sheppard, and Ceara B. Sheppard; two great-grandchildren, Jason and Luke Sheppard; one sister, Gladys Beauchamp of Brookneal. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Winston, Johnny and Ryland Sheppard; two sisters, Marie Mann, Barbara Simpson.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, October 31, 2014 at Sharon United Methodist Church by the Rev. Charlie Haley with interment to follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, October 30, 2014 at Henderson Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Brookneal and at the residence other times.
