Rebecca Lucas Mercer, 70, of Brookneal, passed away peacefully at home, on Saturday, August 30, 2025. She was the wife of Michael L. Mercer.
Rebecca was born in Illinois on November 17, 1954, the daughter of the late Marion Lucas and Linda Stephens Dennison. She spent 25 years working at Walmart. She was an avid reader, loved to crochet and sew, as well as enjoyed spending time with her grand kids and great grandkids and making taco pizza.
In addition to her husband, Rebecca is survived by children, Shannon Stout (Erica), Tisha Stout Bryner (Philip), Jeremy Stout (Raschel), Tyler Mercer and Ashley Mercer (Blake); grandchildren, Hunter, Brandon, Willow, Connor, Courtney and Jacob; great grandchildren, Elowen, Eason, Daphne, Vivienne and Arlo; mother, Linda Dennison; siblings, Steve Lucas (Chris), Timothy Lucas (Tina), Lonny Dennison (Dedre), Terry Goforth, Melinda Goforth Grier (Steve), Michael Goforth, Salinda Lucas Moats, Marion Lucas, Raymond Lucas, Jeffery Lucas, and Annette Lucas Moats.
She was preceded in death by her father Marion Lucas, stepfather Lonny Dennison, and brothers Russell and Randy Lucas.
