Harlow Allen Reynolds, 83, of Brookneal, passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at Guggenheimer Health and Rehab, Lynchburg.
Born in Campbell County, September 10, 1942, he was the son of the late Buford Allen Reynolds and the late Lena Mae Epperson Reynolds. Harlow attended Bethel Baptist Church, Phenix. He was an Air Force Veteran and retired as a Distributing Center Supply Manager for Advance Auto Parts.
He lived a full and vibrant life, filled with many interests and friendships. He was known as a small-town celebrity and never met a stranger. His passions ran deep- he was an avid fan of the 21 Wood Brothers Racing team, the New York Yankees, and Bluegrass music. He shared his humor and wit through his beloved Belly Laugh and research articles in the Lynchburg newspaper. He proudly promoted the inspiring story of Desmond T. Doss and worked to memorialize his legacy in Lynchburg. Most of all, he loved his family deeply and left behind memories of laughter and community spirit.
Harlow is survived by a daughter, Sherri R. Pillow (Greg) of Brookneal; two grandchildren Courtney Allen Pillow Brown (Ashton) of Madison Heights and Cole Alan Pillow of Madison Heights; one great- grandchild, Alder Wade Brown; two sisters Virginia R. Francis of Brookneal and Gayle R. Fannon of Naruna and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Ruby Anderson Reynolds, a granddaughter Caitlyn Alana Pillow and a brother Buford Epperson Reynolds.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Bethel Baptist Church, Phenix at 10:00 a.m. in the fellowship hall. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. in the sanctuary by the Rev. Garry Sims. Interment to follow at Perrows Chapel Cemetery, Gladys.
