Roy Dean Lloyd, Sr.

Roy Dean Lloyd, Sr. of Gladys passed away Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of the late Bess Marcus Lloyd.

Mr. Lloyd was born in Halifax County, March 1, 1948, a son of Nannie Eades Lloyd of Brookneal and the late William Everett Lloyd. He was a paralegal and self-employed.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by two sons, Dean Lloyd, Jr. (Jesse) of Drakes Branch, Christopher Lloyd (Bethany) of Richmond; a daughter, Jennifer Lloyd of Las Vegas, N.V.; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; a sister, Edna Guthrie (Stafford), and a brother, Bobby Lloyd all of Brookneal. He was preceded in death by a brother, William Lloyd.

A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at Clover Bottom Baptist Church Cemetery by the Rev. Phillip Wright.

Following CDC guidelines those who attend the service will be required to wear a mask and social distance.
