Mildred Dingman Sowell, 93, of Brookneal, passed away peacefully at home, Tuesday, April 12, 2022. She was the widow of the late William Irvin Sowell. Mildred was born in Texas, June 13, 1928, the daughter of the late John Henry Dingman and Sally Louise Hames Dingman. She was a member of Brookneal United Methodist Church and a former Bookkeeper for the Tobacco Warehouse. She left behind a loving family of four daughters, Bonnie Woosley of Brookneal, Annie Toler of Concord, Amy Clark (Steve) of Rustburg, Kym Edwards (Jerame) of Concord; one son, Greg Sowell (Michele) of Holly Springs, N.C.; nine grandchildren, Michelle Blackburn, Kristy Rexrode (Lee), Robert Woosley (Virginia), Jason Tweedy (Annette), Sonya Campbell (Eric), Jessi Clark (Jamie), Stevie Rice (Matthew), Wes and Raven Sowell; seven great-grandchildren, Lydia Edwards (Travis), Hannah Edwards (Gabe), Scott Rexrode, PJ Jungling (Alex), Briana Waller (Evan), Amy-Ryan Campbell, Evelyn Grace Campbell, Baylee and Carter Tweedy, Tyler Woosley, Gavyn Bess; and one great-great grandchild Henslee Waller. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Blackburn, a great-great granddaughter, Sedona Jungling; and nine siblings.
