Walter Lee Porterfield, 79, of Gladys passed away at home on Wednesday, October 4, 2023. He was the husband of Edith Little Porterfield.
Walter was born in West Virginia on December 28, 1943, a son of the late John Henry Porterfield and the late Elsie Mae Doss Porterfield. He was a member of Sharon United Methodist Church and was retired from Frank’s Place.
In addition to his wife, Walter is survived by son Ray Porterfield (Debra) of Concord; grandchildren, Jackie Merrill (Ryan), Samantha and Dakota Porterfield; great-grandchildren Jackson, Grayson, Brooklyn and Harper; and brother, Ronnie Porterfield of Lynchburg.
He was preceded in death by a sister and three brothers.
A family visitation will be held in the Henderson Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, October 6, 2023 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.
