Myrtle Bryant Davidson Fisher, 92, of Rustburg passed away Monday, December 11, 2023 at the Destiny House in Lynchburg.
Mrs. Fisher was born April 4, 1931 at Montebello in Nelson County, to William Riley and Fronia Elizabeth Bryant. She was the adopted daughter of Walter L. and Dorothy R. Maddox of Brookneal.
Myrtle was married first to the late J. L. Davidson, and second to Thomas William Fisher of Rustburg. She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church since 1950 and was an associate member of Winfall Baptist Church for a number of years. Myrtle was a graduate of Brookneal High School, a former employee of Kings Super Market in Brookneal and Lynchburg, also a former employee of Central Virgina Training Center in Madison Heights.
In addition to her husband, she leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter Michelle Pomphrey of Staunton; her sons, Ray Davidson (Linda) of Orange, Mike Davidson (Brenda) of Brookneal, Bruce Davidson (Coretta) of Naruna; her grandchildren, Marcia, Julie, Meredith, Holly, Mandy, Ryan and Megan; 14 great-grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter; two stepchildren, Vickie Kerr (Barry), Tommy Fisher, Jr. (Virgina); four step-grandchildren, Ashley, Whitney, Todd and Rodney; six step great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank her special caregivers at the Destiny House; Francis Clark, Lakia Mull, Melkia Mull and Mary Powell for taking such good care of her.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 16, 2023 at Ebenezer Baptist Church by Rev. Jamie Adams, Rev. Johnnie Roberts, and Rev. Phil Stevens with interment to follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
