Obituaries

Joan Shrader Foster passed away June 17, 2015 in Lynchburg. She was the wife of the late Charles Thomas Foster. Mrs. Foster was born in Amherst County, May 23, 1937 daughter of the late Eugene Thompson Shrader and Byrd Miller Shrader. She was a member of Providence Baptist Church in Red House, a retired employee of the Chap Stick Company and along with her husband owned and operated Keyacre Farm where they raised registered Angus Cattle. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry Byrd Shrader and Thomas Henry Shrader. Joan loved and cherished her many friendships. She was grateful for the friendship and support of Brad and Jessie Phillips of Rustburg and Kitty Bass of Lynchburg. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 am Saturday, June 20. 2015 at Providence Baptist Church by the Rev. Scott Curtis and the Rev. Charlie Haley. The burial will precede the memorial service in Union Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. A reception will follow the memorial service in Providence Baptist Church fellowship hall. Memorial contributions may be made to The Charles T. Foster Scholarship Fund, 2599 Browns Mill Road, Rustburg, VA 24588, which aides students pursuing agricultural degrees, or the charity of your choice.
