Bobby Lee Brown, 84, of Nathalie passed away Saturday, May 11, 2019 at home. He was the husband of Mary Lee Brown. Mr. Brown was born in Pittsylvania County, September 11, 1934, a son of the late Richard Thornton Brown “Doc” and Mary Ellen Davis Brown. He was a U.S. Army veteran, retired from Dan River after 33 years, and an avid gardener. In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his children, Preston Brown (Trisha) of Danville, Cynthia Johnson (Chris) of Brookneal, Jeff Brown (Joyce) of Nathalie, Mark Brown of Gladys; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a brother, Ricky Brown (Linda) of Halifax; a sister, Nancy Burnette of Gladys. He was preceded in death by a brother, Buford Brown; two sisters, Velma Fisher and Eva Chappell. The family wishes to thank Centra Hospice for their dedication and excellent care. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at Liberty Christian Church by the Rev. Shelton Miles and the Rev. Tim Owen with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 7:30 p.m. Monday, May 13, 2019 at Henderson Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Brookneal and at the residence other times.
