Carlyle Baines Pillow, a beloved mother, grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2025, surrounded by her family. Born on May 5, 1937, Carlyle lived a life filled with love, music and devotion to her family and her church. Carlyle was the daughter of the late John Garland and Mary Midkiff Baines. She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-six years, Millard Benjamin Pillow, her son, Robin Pillow and her brother, Eugene Baines. Carlyle is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Betty Pillow, and daughter-in-law, Rita Metcalf. Grandchildren are John Pillow (Jessica), Benjamin Pillow, Brittany Bradley (Heath) and Emily Andrews (Patrick). Great-grandchildren are Colton Pillow, Kaylee Pillow, Bran Bradley, Bryar Bradley and Ella Andrews. She is also survived by a devoted niece, Doris Fenner and her husband, Jim. Carlyle was a long-time member of Midway Baptist Church, where she served as both organist and pianist. A celebration of Carlyle’s life will be held at Midway Baptist Church on Monday, April 21, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. lead by Pastor Chris Kesler. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the charity of your choice.
