Charles Goodman Anderson, III, 89, of Lynchburg, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, December 24, 2024. He was the husband of the late Mary Elizabeth Baker Anderson. Charles was born in Lynchburg on February 20, 1935, a son of the late Charles Goodman Anderson, Jr. and the late Lucille Hunter Anderson. He attended Bethel Mennonite Church. Charles retired from BWXT after forty-two years of service. He is survived by three daughters, Mitzi Webb (Matthew) of Amelia, Tammy Burrill (Bob) of Goode and Charlene Prewitt (Shane) of Broadview Heights, Ohio; ten grandchildren, Heather, Molly, Madison, Jacob, Stephen, Matthew, Josh, Abbey, Luke, and Chase; five great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Elijah, Addie, Ella and Callahan. A funeral service will be conducted by Pastor Shane Prewitt and Pastor Leon Yoder on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Henderson Funeral Home Chapel in Brookneal with interment to follow at Falling River Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the HFH Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Bethel Mennonite Church.
