Chester L. Kelting, 98, of Charlotte Courthouse passed away peacefully at home Wednesday, February 11, 2026. He was the husband of the late Anne Evelyn Wisenecker Kelting and the late Ree Mulch Kelting. Born in New York on November 3, 1927, Chester was the son of the late Chester Samuel Kelting and the late Rose Amelia Kreutziger Kelting. He retired from New York Telephone Company and was a member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church. Chester is survived by a son, Chester Kelting, Jr. (Galina) of New York; two daughters, Luanne Fortin of Charlotte Courthouse and Nancy Brennan of Texas; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren. Chester was preceded in death by three daughters, Linda DeBono, Karen Kelting, and Kathy Trzcinski; a sister, Rose Marie Tiedemann. A wake will be held at McCourt & Trudden Funeral Home, 385 Main St. Farmingdale, N.Y. on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. till 12:00p.m. and from 5p.m. till 7 p.m. Burial will take place on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at Pinelawn Cemetery.
