Clara Jane Fannon Seckman, 84, of Brookneal, passed away at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital on Saturday, December 7, 2024. She was married for 40 years to the late Donald Parker Seckman, Jr. Janie was born in Lee County, Virginia on September 6, 1940, a daughter of the late William Fred Fannon and the late Georgia Johnson Fannon. She was of the Baptist faith and was retired from Francis Oil Co. She is survived by: her daughters, Gail Powers (Rondall) of Brookneal, Donna Thomas of Phenix and Sara Brown (Daniel) of Lynchburg; four grandchildren, Joshua Garrett (Heather), Shavonne Garrett, Samantha Watson (William), and Jamie Holt; seven great-grandchildren, William “Liam”, Colton, and Emmie Watson, Cadence and Drake Garrett, Si’ena Garrett and Bruce Williams; step-grandchildren, Nathan Powers, Caleb and Kyle Brown and step-great grandchild Jamie Sizemore; siblings, Larry Fannon (Patty), Pat Foster (Ray), and sister-in-law, Gayle Fannon. Also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brother, Dewey Fannon and sister Freda Dowdy-Seamster and step-grandchild, Rondall Burns Powers. A funeral service will be conducted by Rev. Rick Dellinger on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in the Henderson Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in Wickliffe Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter Gail Powers at other times. Henderson Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Brookneal is assisting the family.
