Delmas Lyle Sowell, 65, of Randolph passed away, Friday, December 7, 2018 at Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital. Delmas was born in Halifax County, January 18, 1953 a son of the late Aubrey James Sowell and Frances Lipscomb Sowell. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Sandy Creek Hunt Club, Brookneal Sportsman Club, Halifax Striper Club and a retired farmer. He is survived by a sister, Robin Davis (Robert) of South Boston; a brother, Randy B. Sowell (Patty) of Powhatan; a grandson, Ross Singleton (Taylor) of Nathalie; a granddaughter, Reese Miller of Gloucester; a fiancée, Sharon Finnegan of Randolph. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Heidi Sowell Miller. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Henderson Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Ralph Moore with interment to follow in Cub Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
