Doris Cunningham Angel, 90, of Brookneal passed away Monday, May 29, 2017 at Heritage Hall Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Monroe Tune Angel. Mrs. Angel was born in Campbell County, March 8, 1927 daughter of the late John Cunningham and Alice Tibbs Cunningham Elder. She is survived by two daughters, Shirley Wright (Dean) of Nathalie, Barbara Guthrie (Tim) of Gladys; three grandsons, Allen Angel (April) of Nathalie, Earl Angel (Leslie), Timothy Guthrie (Miranda); and a granddaughter, Rita Wright (Ray) all of Gladys; six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Gurney Angel. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 1, 2017 at Henderson Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Matthew Killmon with interment to follow in the family cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at Henderson Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Brookneal.
