Dorothy “Midge” Eggleston Throckmorton, 82, of South Boston passed away peacefully at home on Friday, July 11, 2025. Born in Campbell County on July 22, 1942, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Harry Orville Eggleston and the late Edna Knapp Eggleston. Dorothy was a former Administrator of the Chastain Home for Gentle Women in Halifax. She attended Black Walnut Baptist Church of Cluster Springs. Dorothy is survived by one son, Bernard “Bo” O. Throckmorton (Casey) of Cluster Springs; one daughter, Linda “Wendy” Darnelle Eggleston of South Boston; three grandchildren, Samantha Conner (Kevin), Nicholas Throckmorton, and Chesley Throckmorton; and four great-grandchildren, Riley Conner, Avery Conner, Peyton Francis, and Parker Francis. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Milton, daughter Edna “Muff” D. Throckmorton and sister Mary Smith.
