Edith was such a wonderful woman. As a former Pastor at Ebenezer, Edith and Ruby both have special places in my heart. Not long after starting, we noticed Sunday School was dwindling. I announced that if EBC could bring in 100+ people to Sunday School for four consecutive Sundays, I’d shave my head. I made this challenge in late summer; they succeeded the Sunday before Thanksgiving. In the dead of winter, I shaved my head and decided to keep it shaved until those numbers fell back below 100...nearly 5 months! Poor Edith couldn’t stand to see me come in with a bald head in subzero temperatures. She went out and bought me a double insulated, old fashioned Russian style toboggan! I still have it and where it till this day. If is even more of a treasure now since the saint who gave it to me stands before our King! I will miss you dear lady! To my EBC family, especially Ruby, my thoughts and prayers are with you!
