Obituaries

Edker Thomas Evans, Jr. 77, of Nathalie passed away Thursday, August 15, 2019 at home. He was the husband of the late Janet Davis Evans. Mr. Evans was born in Fitzgerald, Ga., August 8, 1942, a son of the late Edker Thomas Evans, Sr. and Rubye Bernhardt Evans. He was a member of Mulberry Baptist Church, a U. S. Navy veteran and a photographer. He is survived by three sons, Victor R. Evans of Alexandria, Kenny Evans of Maryland, and Jimmy Evans; a daughter Wendy Van Noordt (Glenn) of Maryland; two step-daughters, Jean Marie Skeen (Bobby) of Manassas, Amanda Jo Adams (Joe) of Brandy Station; Nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Vic Evans. A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at Culpeper National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 7 p.m. Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at Henderson Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Bookneal.
