Ethel Mason Jennings, 103, of Lynchburg passed away Friday, October 28, 2016 at Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Brookneal. She was the wife of the late James Martin Jennings. Mrs. Jennings was born in Charlotte County, June 6, 1913, daughter of the late Henry Claiborne Mason and Blannie Hamlett Mason. She was a member of Providence Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters, Annie Jennings Clark (Marvin) of Lynchburg, Thelma Jennings Steppe of Rustburg; three grandchildren, Sandy S. Nester (Paul) of Vinton, Barbara S. Crance (Tim) of Lynchburg, Elizabeth C. Sullivan (James) of Fredericksburg; six great-grandchildren, Mark and Kyle Nester, Lauren and Eric Johnston, Sarah Cochran (Chandler), Christina Sullivan; a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one sister, Rachel Rucker; three brothers, Clarence, Raymond and Ezra Mason. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, October 31, 2016 in Providence Baptist Church Cemetery by the Rev. Scott Curtis. The family will visit with friends and relatives following the graveside service.
