Gloria Swanson Ross, 91, of Nathalie passed away Friday, October 7, 2016 at her home. She was the wife first to the late Giles Henry Vaden Jr. and second to Reid Forbes “Sandy” Ross. Mrs. Ross was born in El Campo, Texas, November 25, 1924, daughter of the late Clarence Roy Swanson and Myrtle McDonald Swanson. She was a member of Altavista Presbyterian Church, a National Flower Show Judge, former teacher and florist. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Kenneth I. Vaden (Karen) of Clemmons, N.C., Giles H. Vaden (Judy) of Madison, Ala.; four grandchildren, Lisa Vaden of McLean, Heather V. Sill (Scott) of Morgan City, Calif., Kenneth Vaden Jr. (Haley) of Charleston, S.C., Kristine V. Tuttle (Bradley) of Kirkland, Wash.; three great-grandchildren, Savannah, Scott and Spencer Sill; one sister, Ann Kanak of Needville, Texas. A funeral service will be conducted 10 a.m. Monday, October 10, 2016 at Henderson Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Brookneal by the Rev. Herndon Jeffreys. Interment will be in El Campo, Texas. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
