Heidi Sowell Miller, 44, of Hayes passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at home. She was the wife of Rodney Paul Miller. Heidi was born in South Boston, March 6, 1972, the daughter of Delmas L. Sowell (Sharon) of Randolph and Barbara Wright Martin of Brookneal. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and a former employee of Child and Youth Services. In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by one son, C. Ross Singleton (Taylor) of Nathalie; one daughter, K. Reese Miller of Hayes; her maternal grandmother, Reva Nichols of Brookneal; one uncle, Randy Sowell (Patty) of Powhatan; two aunts, Robin Davis (Robert) of South Boston, Katherine Abbott of Madison Heights; friends, Wendy Herndon, Christy Tinsley, Julie Smith, Sherri Singleton, Christy Toombs, Audrey Knott; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Aubrey and Frances Sowell; maternal grandfather, James E. Wright; step-father, Gerald B. Martin. A funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Henderson Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8 p.m. Friday, August 19, 2016 at Henderson Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Brookneal and at the residences of Barbara W.
