The following is a quote from the diary of the VES Headmaster who hired Mr. Harper as Bursar: The comment is in reference to replacing the previous VES Bursar. The date of the entry is November 1, 1950. "....I have been able to replace him (the previous Bursar) with a young man who promises well." Indeed prophetic. Mr. Harper was a great guy. I was always fascinated by the large number of keys he carried and he knew exactly which one fit which lock.
