Jackie Don “Jack” Carpenter, 80, of Brookneal passed away Monday, January 7, 2019 at home. Mr. Carpenter was born in Bloomington, Ind., February 25, 1938, a son of the late Harry Oliver Carpenter and Laura Elizabeth Burton Carpenter. He was a retired parts manager. He was the loving father of two sons, Jeffrey D. Carpenter (Kathryn) of Brookneal, Gregory B. Carpenter (Ronnie) of Ft. Lauderdale Fla.; one daughter, Pamela F. McElvain (John) of Stafford; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one brother, Alvie McNeal of West Virginia; two sisters, Connie Patton, and Barbara Fyffe both if Indiana. He was preceded in death by three brothers; and four sisters. A Funeral service will be conducted at 12 p.m. Friday, January 11, 2019 at Henderson Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in Beulah Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 7:30 p.m. Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Henderson Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Brookneal.
