Obituaries

Jackie Edwin Crews, 78, of Brookneal passed away Friday, January 16, 2015 at home.  He was the husband of the late Doris Tibbs Crews. Jackie was born in Halifax County, November 26, 1936 son of the late Joe A. Crews and Inez Tuck Crews. He is survived by three daughters, Linda Holland (Billy) of Gladys, Judy Crews (Tommy) of Nathalie, Teresa Ward (Lester) of Brookneal; four granddaughters, Lindsay Crews Johnson of Brookneal, Emily Dawn Crews, Summer Rudd, Tabitha Rudd all of Nathalie; two grandsons, T. J. Rudd of Nathalie, Anthony Crews of Richmond; a daughter-in-law, Darla Crews-Ashby (Tim) of Nathalie; two sisters, Mae Saunders (Louis), Kathy Peade (Kenneth) all of Nathalie; one brother, Danny Crews (Beverly) of South Boston; eight great-grandbabies; and a number of nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by two sons, Timothy Crews, Mark Crews. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 18, 2015 at Henderson Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Matthew Killmon with interment to follow in Sharon United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 until 4 p.m. Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Henderson Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Brookneal and at the residence other times.
