James Edward Bailey Jr., 45, of Brookneal passed away Monday, November 28, 2016 at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville. He was the loving husband of Helen Strauss Bailey. J. E. was born in Lynchburg, November 26, 1971, the son of James Edward Bailey Sr. and Mary Chenault Bailey of Phenix. He was a member of Rough Creek Presbyterian Church, Brookneal Moose Lodge and the Lynchburg Bowling League. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a step-son, Daniel Stephen Reidenbaker; a step-daughter, Sarah Lynn Reidenbaker; a sister, Elizabeth Bailey of Phenix; a niece, MariLynn Frank; two nephews, William Frank, Tormaine Hurt; two great nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 3, 2016 at Rough Creek Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Wesley Williams with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 7:30 p.m. Friday, December 2, 2016 at Henderson Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Brookneal and at the residence other times.
