Janice Anderson Wright, 92, of Rustburg passed away Monday, March 11, 2024 at home. She was the wife of Ben Johnson Wright, Sr. Mrs. Wright was born in Halifax County, May 15, 1931, a daughter of the late Robert Lee Anderson and Bessie Wright Anderson. She was a member of New Chapel Baptist Church and owner/operator of BJW Inc. Dry Cleaners. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Ben Wright, Jr. of Rustburg, Anthony Keith Wright, Sr. of Lynchburg; a daughter, Melanie Wright Moore (Ricky) of Rustburg; four grandchildren, Ervin Dakota Wright (Leslie) of Moneta, Megan W. Barricks (Justin) of Lynchburg, Anthony Keith Wright, Jr. (Carmen) of Forest, Hunter Alan Moore (Sarah) of Lynchburg; seven great-grandchildren, Logan Reece Wright, Cole Johnson Wright, Mark Hall, Jr., Matthew Hall, Rae Wright, Aryana Craft, Kynslie Grace Moore. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Ben Wright, III; daughter-in-law, Catherine Wright; five sisters and three brothers. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. March 14, 2024 at New Chapel Baptist Church by the Rev. Tim Dooley with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church and at the home other times.
